Who will it be?
Other names mooted around lately have been Gerard Houllier, Mark Hughes, Kevin Keegan, Alan Shearer (too inexperienced)!
Other news -
The Rafa Benitez situation. Just what is going on there? Rafa should get out before the Yanks kick him out. I personally think Rafa has done a fine job, and given a bit more financial backing from the board over the summer, he could well take the title back to Anfield!

Who will it be?If I were a Liverpool fan, I would be torn. On one hand, Benitez has led the club to some solid finishes in the Prem and some oustanding places in the Champions League, and I'm not a believer that one sub-par stretch should overturn a couple of years of quality managing. But I don't know if I'd necessarily want him let loose with a huge pile of cash to buy more players. Who would he want? Who would they replace? I mean, look at his team. Where is there an area that screams for big-money reinforcements? I think a more effective method is the one that SAF and Wenger seem to employ. Find a first-choice squad and play it when it's healthy. Rotate it depending on the competition, the opponent, and the fixture calendar. Make sure your "reserves," as it were, are capable of filling in when you call on them, are comfortable with their role while at the same time confident that if they outperform the guy in front of them, they can break their way into the first XI. Buy young and talented and let them work their way in. This would absolutely work at Liverpool ... worth a shot? Good job on the blog. |

Who will it be?Keegan has been hired... I think most Toon fans only would have been satisfied if Keegan, Shearer, or Mourinho got the job. I could see Keegan having Alan as an assistant though, and breed him as a successor. I think that's what most Toon fans want. |

WE'RE IN HEAVEN, WE'VE GOT KEVIN!The messiah has returned to the hallowed turf of St James Park, he is possibly the only man capable of the creating the type of euphoria surrounding Newcastle at this moment in time. KK will galvanise the squad, make players play better than they ever thought they could, and most importantly he will play football the way the Geordies like it which is fast slick and very attacking. |
